The Washington Huskies are looking to bring in some high-end talent in the 2028 class, and on Monday, Jedd Fisch's coaching staff made the cut for one of the top running backs in California, three-star Malaki Davis. Davis, a 6-foot-1, 215-pound product of Corona Centennial High School in Southern California, is ranked as the No. 521 overall prospect and No. 40 running back in the class by the 247Sports Composite, and has cut his list of 20 offers down to a final seven. The Huskies made that shortlist alongside California, Miami, Michigan, Oklahoma, Oregon, and USC, and it appears running backs coach Scottie Graham may have some ground to make up as the Huskies continue to sort out their board for the 2028 class.

Davis, who is teammates with four-star safety and 2027 UW commit Jaden Walk-Green, has held a crystal ball from 247Sports' Blair Angulo to pick coach Lincoln Riley and the Trojans since mid-April as Washington's former Pac-12 and current Big Ten rival has been on a tear on the recruiting trail over the last few cycles. "It's that Cali feeling," Davis told Locked On USC of his relationship with Riley's coaching staff after taking in a spring practice. "The music, the environment, everybody is so hyped up just to be there...they actually want to be there. It's really cool seeing that, because I want to be in that environment." Graham currently holds a commitment from four-star Jeremy Adeyanju in the 2027 class and has shown interest in several of the nation's top-ranked backs in the 2028 class too, alongside Davis, with four-stars Noel Washington and Tahmere Brown seemingly among his top targets.
