Whew. We knew that Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Travis Hunter would be a challenging matchup during the New Orleans Saints' joint practice session on Thursday. But wide receiver Chris Olave passed that test with a statement-making reception. See it for yourself and you'll believe a man can fly.
Olave beat Hunter to the catch point, leaping high into the air while Hunter aimed too low for a pass breakup. Sure, it would have gone down as a sack in a real game; Jaguars edge rusher Travon Walker got to Tyler Shough before he got the throw away, pulling up to avoid a collision. But that's what practice is for. Walker won his rep, Shough still got to throw a pass in a tough situation, and Olave came down with a difficult catch in a big spot.

Again, yeah, this would have gone down as a sack for Walker in a real game. But this is practice. Both the Saints and Jaguars should come away from it feeling encouraged about the progress some of their most important players are making. With both teams sitting their starters from Saturday's preseason game, they needed to make the most of this practice. It looks like they both did.
