It might just be the NFL preseason, but we are starting to see some former Ohio State players make plays on those high-definition screens of ours. On Thursday night, former Buckeye superstar receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. hauled in a touchdown pass against the Las Vegas Raiders, but there was a former OSU defender and quarterback who met in the backfield during the Green Bay Packers game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
While taking a snap from the Steelers' 37-yard line late in the first half in Pittsburgh, former Ohio State and Packers backup quarterback Kyle McCord was flushed out of the pocket and eventually taken down with help from Central Ohio legend Jack Sawyer. It was 3rd and 10, so the sack cost Green Bay the chance to get a first down and took them out of field goal range. The Pack had to punt the ball back over to the Steelers.
You can watch the play for yourself thanks to the Steelers X page, but it was Sawyer doing what we've become accustomed to seeing him do: just keep the motor going until the play is over. In this case, it ended with him saying hello to a former teammate.

We'll continue to keep an eye on what former Ohio State players do during the NFL preseason and beyond, as the Bucks in the NFL continue to be a big part of NFL action in 2026-27.
