The Seattle Seahawks checked off the largest remaining item from their offseason "to-do" list by granting cornerback Devon Witherspoon with a historic, multi-year contract extension. Seattle gave their star defender a four-year deal worth up to $132 million dollars, with $101 million fully guaranteed and an annual salary of $33 million. Not only does this make Witherspoon the highest paid cornerback in the league, it also makes him the highest paid in NFL history! And the best part? Witherspoon still has two years left on his current contract, so this extension won't even kick in until then. This means he is contractually tied to the Seahawks through the 2031 season, alongside wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Naturally, among the first to hear the good news will be Witherspoon's teammates. When Seattle's $132 million dollar man walked into the locker room, the other Seahawks were quick to celebrate the massive payday their teammate rightfully earned. We can see their reactions in a specially released clip from the upcoming Hard Knocks episode three.
