Delhi Capitals (DC) got the better of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium on Wednesday, April 1, in a low-scoring encounter. While the action on the field was intense, fans of both teams got into a brawl, causing chaos until police intervened.

The unpleasant situation involved two groups in a fistfight. A video of the melee surfaced on social media after the conclusion of the match. A brave policeman stepped into the scuffle and helped de-escalate it before it could intensify to catastrophic proportions.

Coming to the match, Axar Patel won the toss for DC and opted to bowl first. The home side lost its skipper, Rishabh Pant, early through an unfortunate run-out at the non-striker's end. However, Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram steadied the ship through a solid partnership.

The Capitals, however, kept chipping away at the wickets, especially after the power play, and the hosts lost half their side for 71 runs in 9.3 overs. Abdul Samad contributed with a crucial 36, while Mukul Choudhary and Shahbaz Ahmed gave him decent support. However, the LSG innings ended in 18.4 overs when they were bowled out for 141.

Lungi Ngidi and T Natarajan bowled fantastic spells for the Capitals as they bagged three wickets apiece. Kuldeep Yadav also chipped in with two scalps.

In reply, Mohammed Shami struck on the first ball for Lucknow as he sent KL Rahul packing. Nitish Rana, Pathum Nissanka, and Axar Patel were also dismissed inside the power play, as the Capitals were reeling at 26/4.

Sameer Rizvi and Tristan Stubbs joined forces and kept the LSG bowlers at bay with some gritty batting. They eventually added an unbeaten stand of 119 runs off 76 balls to take their team home. Rizvi top-scored with a 47-ball 70, while Stubbs made 39 off 32 deliveries. The Capitals won the match by six wickets in 17.1 overs.
