Texas A&M's first seven preseason practices not only provide a glimpse into what the 2026 roster will look like 22 days before the season opener vs. Missouri State, but three of the program's blue-chip freshmen from the 2026 signing class have put together a string of impressive performances, including former five-star running back KJ Edwards. While Edwards' touchdown run, staving off several tackles before making his way to the end zone, was highly impressive and indicative of what we could see during his first season on the field, wide receiver Aaron Gregory and cornerback Brandon Arrington, both standout freshmen in their own right, have battled each other throughout preseason camp. Going back to their first appearance during the spring season, Gregory, who stands 6'3", and Arrington, who is 6'2", have continued to get the best version of one another in every 1-on-1 matchup, and similar to the Maroon & White Game, Brandon Arrington's relentless press-man coverage has resulted in breaking up multiple passes, despite crisp routes and impressive control from Gregory. Thanks to Texas A&M video coordinator Cooper Deel, Aggie fans and media members alike were provided another well-edited clip of Aaron Gregory and Brandon Arrington facing off this week, with the talented CB nearly completing the pass breakup before Gregory re-established himself and caught the deflection. Gregory and Arrington represent Texas A&M's star-studded 2027 roster, which will undergo an overhaul next offseason, likely resulting in both players earning starting roles by this time next year.
