Zach Wilson put together a strong first half in his first preseason appearance with the New Orleans Saints. The 2021 No. 2 overall pick completed seven of his 12 passes for 112 yards and a touchdown, for a 117.4 passer rating against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The highlight came late in the second quarter. Wilson stayed patient and found rookie tight end Oscar Delp near the right side of the end zone. Delp secured the pass for his first (unofficial) NFL touchdown, extending the Saints' lead to 17-6.

On the Saints' final possession of the half, Wilson continued attacking through the air. He converted a third down from deep in Saints territory with a 37-yard completion to Bub Means along the sideline. He later connected with Barion Brown downfield to move the offense into scoring range before halftime.

Wilson remained in the game for the Saints after halftime, so those weren't his final numbers. But his first preseason action gave an encouraging look at what he can provide in the Saints' quarterback room, as well as what he can show if his number is called upon in 2026. He pushed the ball downfield, avoided turnovers, and delivered a touchdown pass during an effecient first half against Jacksonville.
