After Week 1 of the NFL preseason got rolling Thursday, the Jets and Buccaneers will open their campaigns with a clash on Friday evening.
The Jets will get to kick off with a preseason opener at home, welcoming the Bucs to MetLife Stadium. Under second-year head coach Aaron Glenn, the franchise has been working on adding younger talent and rebuilding a strong foundation, which could manifest into a better record than last year's 3-14 outcome.
The Bucs are heading into the preseason following some fairly public drama with QB1 Baker Mayfield, who claimed he felt "disrespected" by the franchise's contract offers.
