The dress rehearsal is underway: the NFL preseason is here.
\nThe Arizona Cardinals and Carolina Panthers wet everyone's palates with an explosive Hall of Fame game on Aug. 6, but the rest of the league gets busy this weekend, starting with a healthy serving of Thursday games.
\nA dozen teams lace 'em up and head to the field on Thursday, and fans will get a look at the Green Bay Packers, Pittsburgh Steelers, Indianapolis Colts and some of their stars. Come Thursday night, Jordan Love, Aaron Rodgers, Ja'Marr Chase, Joe Burrow and others will see the turf as they begin to get the gears greased for the regular season.
\nNotably, No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza will also see the field on Thursday night, his first taste of NFL game action as the Las Vegas Raiders face off against the Cardinals.
\nHere's what to know about the slate of games on Thursday night in the first week of pure preseason action:

The NFL Network will broadcast a number of nationally televised games throughout the preseason. A majority of games will be broadcast in local markets on CBS, NBC and others.
