Georgia football is a top 5 team in the preseason Associated Press poll, and the media members who vote in the ranking put the Bulldogs at the same spot as those who cast ballots in the coaches poll.
The Bulldogs are No. 3 in the AP top 25 released Monday Aug. 17 behind No. 1 Ohio State and No. 2 Oregon and just ahead of No. 4 Notre Dame and No. 5 Texas.
Georgia was also No. 3 in the preseason US LBM Coaches Poll that was released two weeks ago.
Georgia was ranked No. 5 in the AP preseason ranking in 2025 and finished the season No. 6 after going 12-2.
The Bulldogs are ranked in the top 5 of the AP preseason poll for a ninth straight season.
Georgia is one of nine SEC teams in the top 25.
The Bulldogs will play four AP preseason ranked teams: No. 9 Ole Miss, No. 10 Oklahoma, No. 13 Alabama and No. 25 Missouri.
The other SEC teams ranked are No. 5 Texas, No. 8 Texas A&M, No. 11 LSU and No. 20 Tennessee.
Georgia’s returning players include starting quarterback Gunner Stockton, running back Nate Frazier, cornerback Ellis Robinson, safety KJ Bolden and linebacker Raylen Wilson.
The Bulldogs open the season on Sept. 5 against Tennessee State in Sanford Stadium.
