It's time to take a look at the standout high school performers from the Akron area last week.
Your vote will determine who will be the Akron-Area High School Athlete of the Week for Aug. 10-16. Each athlete's credentials are listed above the poll — which will be live until 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20. The winners will be announced Friday morning, Aug. 21, on BeaconJournal.com.
Now, let's meet the candidates, who were selected by the Beacon Journal sports staff based on results submitted to the Beacon Journal and nominations from coaches and athletic directors.

Amrita Deo, Revere golf
Shot a 79 to earn the medalist honor in the first Suburban League American Conference tournament at Good Park Golf Course in Akron. Revere finished first in the team standings.
Sarah Riley, Revere golf
Shot a 74 to earn the medalist honor in the second Suburban League American Conference tournament at Fox Den Golf Course in Stow. Revere finished first in the team standings.
Rachel Rush, Hudson golf
Shot a 77 to earn the medalist honor in the first Suburban League National Conference tournament at Good Park Golf Course in Akron. Hudson finished first in the team standings.
Elena Varga, Hudson golf
Shot a 73 to earn the medalist honor in the second Suburban League National Conference tournament at Fox Den Golf Course in Stow. Hudson finished first in the team standings.

Shot a 69 to win medalist honors at the Metro Athletic Conference tournament at Good Park Golf Course in Akron. Norton finished fifth in the team standings.
Everett Hedges, Hudson soccer
Scored three goals in a 4-1 win over Kent Roosevelt.
Tommy Kinder, Revere golf
Shot a 72 to earn the medalist honor in the first Suburban League American Conference tournament at Good Park Golf Course in Akron. Revere finished second in the team standings to Aurora.
