Fall camp is halfway over for Alabama football.
While some positions seem clearer than others, depth chart positions remain up for grabs as the Crimson Tide inches closer to its 2026 debut against East Carolina Saturday Sept. 5.
Where does the Alabama depth chart stand nine practices in? Here's a look at the latest projection.
Alabama football quarterback depth chart
- Austin Mack
- Keelon Russell
- Jett Thomalla
Keelon Russell may have the explosion. And Austin Mack may have the experience in the scheme. Neither have enough on-field reps to solidify a top position on Alabama's quarterback depth chart through one scrimmage and nine fall camp practices. Even if a starter is named, nothing is set in stone until either Mack or Russell prove it early on in 2026.
Alabama running back depth chart
- Daniel Hill
- Kevin Riley
- Trae'shawn Brown
Injuries have ravaged the depth of Alabama's running back room, from AK Dear's injury during the Crimson Tide's first fall scrimmage to an injury that has hindered the initial progress of five-star freshman EJ Crowell. The physical transformation conversation surrounding Daniel Hill and the buzz following freshman Trae'shawn Brown seems to give the Crimson Tide enough of a cushion until the room is 100% healthy.
Alabama wide receiver depth chart
- Ryan Coleman-Williams (starter)
- Lotzeir Brooks (starter)
- Rico Scott (starter)
- Derek Meadows
- Cederian Morgan
Lotzeir Brooks missed Alabama's first fall scrimmage, and while his depth chart place is secured, the Crimson Tide now has more of a chance to develop the depth for that third receiver position as Rico Scott, Derek Meadows and freshman Cederian Morgan fight for reps.
Alabama tight end depth chart
- Kaleb Edwards
- Josh Ford
- Marshall Pritchett
While the initial depth chart of Alabama's tight end room hasn't changed, the role of the tight end under new position coach Richard Owens could completely shift with an emphasis on run blocking.
Alabama offensive line depth chart
Left tackle
- Jackson Lloyd
- Tyrell Miller
Left guard
- William Sanders
- Mal Waldrep
Center
- Racin Delgatty
- Kaden Strayhorn
Right guard
- Michael Carroll
- Casey Poe
Right tackle
- Jayvin James
- Nick Brooks
Three spots have been publicly filled. After the first scrimmage, coach Kalen DeBoer said there's "consistency" with who is in the rotation with the first team with many more questions about the second team and beyond. William Sanders and Mal Waldrep at left guard, and Jayvin James and Nick Brooks at right tackle seem to be the last questions for a line that is quickly taking shape.
Alabama defensive line depth chart
Bandit defensive end
- Devan Thompkins
- Desmond Umeozulu
- Fatutoa Henry
Defensive tackle
- Terrance Green (starter)
- London Simmons (starter)
- Jeremiah Beaman
- Kedrick Bingley-Jones
Devan Thompkins leads Alabama's Bandit defensive end room, a room that will likely look much more positionless as a pass rusher with players like Edric Hill or Yhonzae Pierre repping out wide. The rotation will continue inside with experienced transfers in the fold like Terrance Green and Kedrick Bingley-Jones, along with pieces like London Simmons and Jeremiah Beaman looking to make an impact.
Alabama linebackers depth chart
Wolf outside linebacker
- Yhonzae Pierre
- Justin Hill
- Desmond Umeozulu
Middle linebacker
- Caleb Woodson (starter)
- QB Reese (starter)
- Cayden Jones
- Luke Metz
Like Bandit, Alabama's wolf linebackers seem to be set while the two positions could see more interchange than in years past. Caleb Woodson, the Virginia Tech transfer, seems locked into one starting position and, likely, the "green dot" communication leader. QB Reese and Cayden Jones seem like leaders for that second linebacker spot with Luke Metz surging with an impressive fall camp.
Alabama defensive backs depth chart
Cornerback
- Zabien Brown (starter)
- Dijon Lee Jr. (starter)
- Carmelo O'Neal
- Jorden Edmonds
Safety
- Bray Hubbard (starter)
- Keon Sabb (starter)
- Ivan Taylor
- Zavier Mincey
Husky nickel back
- Red Morgan
- Dre Kirkpatrick Jr.
- Chuck McDonald III
The question isn't who starts in Alabama's defensive backfield. It's who's next, with battles between Zavier Mincey and Ivan Taylor at safety along with freshman five-star Jireh Edwards waiting in the wings, or the plethora of options at Husky. Carmelo O'Neal seems locked in as the No. 3 corner, especially after the injury to five-star freshman Jorden Edmonds.
Alabama special teams depth chart
Kicker
- Lorcan Quinn
- Conor Talty
Punter
- Adam Watford
- Alex Asparuhov
Kickoff/punt return
- Lotzeir Brooks
- Rico Scott
- Ryan Coleman-Williams
- Dijon Lee Jr.
Kicker and punter may be the most important battles no one is talking about. Lorcan Quinn and Conor Talty continue to vie for the top kicker spot, with one potentially taking charge on kickoffs. Adam Watford has experience over Alex Asparuhov, while he will have to prove that his North Alabama stats can translate to the SEC. Returner is a question mark for a position that has not made the biggest impact in recent years.
