Philadelphia 76ers tickets are already reaching extraordinary prices ahead of the 2026-27 NBA season, with their opening-night clash against the New York Knicks reportedly nearing a record for the most expensive NBA season opener.
The Knicks will host Philadelphia at Madison Square Garden on October 20, with the defending champions set to raise their first NBA title banner since 1973.
The Sixers will arrive with a completely revamped roster featuring LeBron James and Jaylen Brown alongside Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid.

The cheapest available tickets for Knicks-Sixers were listed at around $1,881 on Vivid Seats, $1,970 on SeatGeek and $1,923 on StubHub as of Monday.
That could make the game the most expensive NBA season-opening ticket ever, according to the Sports Business Journal.
There are several reasons behind the huge prices.
For starters, New York’s opening night is about much more than a regular-season game. The Knicks will receive their championship rings and unveil their first banner since 1973 in front of a packed Madison Square Garden.
Then there is the Sixers.
Philadelphia has completely changed the level of attention around its team by adding LeBron James and Jaylen Brown to a roster that already includes Maxey and Embiid.
James’ arrival is particularly significant. The 41-year-old is entering a new chapter of his career in Philadelphia, making the Sixers one of the league’s biggest draws before the season has even started.
The demand is not limited to the Knicks game either.
Philadelphia’s first home fixture against the Cleveland Cavaliers on October 22 is already approaching $500 for the cheapest available resale ticket. Last season, comparable tickets for the Sixers’ opener were selling for around $100.
That means the rise is not simply about one game at Madison Square Garden.
Nine of the 10 most expensive NBA games this season reportedly involve the 76ers, highlighting just how much interest LeBron’s arrival has created.
The full Sixers schedule has only just been announced, while season-ticket prices have yet to be released.
For now, though, the message is clear. If you want to watch LeBron James begin his Philadelphia era in person, you could be paying a very hefty price.
