Durham Cricket announced on August 13, 2026, that Will Rhodes has put pen to paper on a one-year extension, keeping the all-rounder at the Riverside ground through at least the 2028 season.
Rhodes, who is 31, moved to Durham from Warwickshire at the start of 2025 and has featured for the county across red-ball, 50-over and T20 cricket over the two seasons since his arrival.
"I am loving my time with Durham and really excited to be with the club for the next two years. Everyone at the club has made me feel really welcome since joining and I am looking forward to seeing what we can achieve in the coming years," Rhodes as quoted by Durham Cricket.
How has Rhodes performed across formats for Durham?
Rhodes made an immediate impact in the 50-over game after joining Durham. He accumulated 429 runs and 14 wickets in the List A format during 2025, earning the club's 50-over player of the season award. Among his standout contributions that year were a century against Somerset in the Metro Bank One Day Cup, his first hundred for the county in that competition, and a five-wicket haul against Sussex Sharks, his maiden List A five-for.
His List A form has carried into 2026 as well. Rhodes has been the top run scorer and leading wicket-taker for Durham in the 2026 Metro Bank One Day Cup group stage, reinforcing his standing as one of the most complete performers in the county's squad.
In first-class cricket, Rhodes produced an unbeaten 151 against Worcestershire at Banks Homes Riverside, his first century for Durham in the red-ball format. That innings has pushed him towards the 7,000-run mark in first-class cricket across his career.
His T20 contribution has been equally noteworthy. Rhodes had been absent from the shortest format since 2021, yet he returned to post 382 runs in T20 cricket for Durham, showing he remains a reliable option across all three formats.
