Another season is about to get underway at Rutgers.
The 2026-27 campaign officially begins for the Scarlet Knights on Thursday, when the women’s soccer team faces Tennessee in Knoxville.
Three weeks later, the football program will kick off its season against UMass.
Following another disappointing season in 2025-26 in which it finished dead-last among Big Ten teams in the Director’s Cup, Rutgers will look to bounce back with a breakout year in its second year under athletic director Keli Zinn, who has provided her coaches with more NIL resources than ever before.
Will that result in higher expectations than ever?
