Friday’s WNBA slate delivered two tough matchups. The Indiana Fever rallied past Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings 98-87, with Caitlin Clark scoring 29 points and adding 10 assists to help Indiana extend its winning streak to three games.

Later, the Portland Fire edged the Seattle Storm 84-82, with Holly Winterburn scoring a career-high 20 points as Portland completed a four-game season sweep of the already eliminated Seattle.

The WNBA schedule has three games on tap for Saturday, Aug. 15. With the regular season entering its final stretch, some teams are playing for home court advantage and, for others, survival in the postseason race are becoming increasingly important.

WNBA TV Schedule for Saturday, August 15

  • New York Liberty at Connecticut Sun, 1:00 p.m. ET, WNYW – FOX 5 New York, NBC Sports Boston
  • Los Angeles Sparks at Washington Mystics, 7:30 p.m. ET, Monumental Sports Network, Spectrum SportsNet
  • Minnesota Lynx at Las Vegas Aces, 8:00 p.m. ET, CBS, Paramount+

The day begins with the New York Liberty visiting the Connecticut Sun at 1 p.m. ET at Mohegan Sun Arena. The game is available on WNBA League Pass, with local broadcasts also available.

New York (21-14) sits sixth in the WNBA standings, while Connecticut (8-24) sits 14th and is trying to make the most of a difficult season. The Liberty have already beaten the Sun twice this season, including a 106-75 victory in May and an 89-80 win in June.

The second game features the Los Angeles Sparks at the Washington Mystics at 7:30 p.m. ET. That matchup could have a much bigger impact on the playoff picture. Washington enters the day at 19-14, while Los Angeles is 12-21, putting the Mystics in a much stronger position but leaving the Sparks with plenty of ground to make up.

The Sparks already own a win over Washington this season, beating the Mystics 92-87 on May 29.

The biggest game of the day comes later when the Minnesota Lynx visit the Las Vegas Aces at 8 p.m. ET. The game will be televised nationally on CBS and streamed on Paramount+.

This one has championship-level implications. Minnesota (28-7) has already clinched a playoff berth and remains at the top of the league, while Las Vegas sits four games behind in third. The two teams split their first two meetings, and Saturday’s matchup could be a potential preview of the WNBA finals.
