InfielderJosé Caballero, who scored on Garcia's one-out fly ball in the third inning, started the frame with a leadoff walk and subsequently stole third base to reach scoring position. Caballero's two-out RBI single in the seventh inning put the Yankees over the top, scoring shortstop George Lombard Jr. Through 103 games, Caballero is slashing .242/.300/.390 with 12 home runs and 43 RBI. He is up to 30 stolen bases this season.
First baseman Ben Rice made up for his costly fielding error to lead off the ninth inning and put the eventual game-tying run on base when he put the Yankees back on top with a two-run home run.
