The Raiders bring back the majority of their starting lineup and have players with varsity experience at all positions. The program has also added East Windsor (formerly with Thanksgiving-week rival Stafford) as a co-op partner.
[Reason to Fear]
Much of that experience is still young, and the co-op hasn't had a winning season since finishing 6-4 in 2019.
[The Bottom Line]
The Raiders could have the pieces to take a step up in 2026, starting with three returning quarterbacks who are competing to run the team's spread offense: seniors Tyler Musco and James Tanner, and junior T.J. Ceasar.
Whoever lands the job will air it out to a junior-heavy receiving corps featuring Malachi Whyte, Preston Hayward, Maddox Fortier, Cody Sandora, Kairo Sharpe and Eugene Stovall. The receivers will also man spots in the secondary alongside returning senior cornerback Richard McTyson.
In the backfield, senior Ethan Musco, All-Pequot a year ago, will team with another power back, junior Danni Vargas. Another junior, Ja'meer Simms, will supply the speed.
The lines will feature two-way players Kyris, Josiah Cespedes, Liam McCormick, Ben Navin, Caleb Litchfield and Edgar Bermudez. Miguel Ortiz, a senior, returns at inside linebacker and the O-line. Ryan Dave, a junior, will again line up next to Ortiz at linebacker and also see time at receiver.
Sharpe will handle the kicking and punting for a third straight year.
"After a season of tremendous growth and a strong performance in offseason training, expect the Raiders to earn respect as a growing program, notching more victories in the future," Norige said.
